Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk alongside the machine as they lift and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances in manufacturing operations and warehouses. They are highly maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and transport unstable or tall loads as there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap way of moving cargo from one location to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best choice.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece equipment designed specifically for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that could operate in smaller aisles. They are extremely handy pieces of equipment in cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
