CareLift Equipment has been designing and building quality rough terrain forklifts since 1962. Every day the company strives to help their consumers reach their goals and deliver value since they know the bottom line is dependability and performance.
Boom lifts come in 2 general kinds, the straight boom lift and articulated boom lift. Both these units are usually hydraulically powered. Most often straight booms are the ideal alternative for tasks which require a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the equipment is capable of rotating 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom is able to be raised vertically to below horizontal. Because the operator is able to steer and maneuver the vehicle while the boom is fully extended, it is a versatile machine. These units are available in 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, as well as propane, gas or diesel configurations.
The articulated boom lifts are used for jobs which require to reach up and over obstacles in order to gain access. These specialized lifts are used for tasks which are not easily completed by straight telescopic booms. These lifts are almost like the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the ability of the boom to articulate. There are different articulation points on the boom in order to enable it to bend in a variety of different directions allowing it to move easily around any objects in the work environment.
To be able to maintain stability while the boom lift is completely extended, some heavy-duty boom lifts come outfitted with outriggers. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Proper training is required prior to operating boom lifts in order to ensure the jobsite, the operator and everybody working in the vicinity stays safe.
Boom lifts enable tasks that used to require a lot more man power to be carried out in a much shorter time period. These equipment have greatly increased production and have revolutionized the material handling industry.
