Reach Truck
A reach truck is used to pile up supplies, pallets of goods, and to keep storage areas tidy. The reach truck is available in several types: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The most basic kind is the stand-up. The truck forks slide beneath the pallet and move it to the appropriate storage place. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are one pallet deep.
Best for workplaces where the shelving units are deep enough to accommodate two pallets of goods, the double-deep reach truck, that is like the stand-up, is frequently utilized. This particular model has telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when one more pallet must go into the same shelving section.
The added advantage of straddle reaches is that they could both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in multiple directions. This particular version is ideal in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
In most warehouses, there are normally more than one kind of reach truck. Manufacturing facilities and textile firms use different kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to operate and can increase production while making the most of available storage space.
