Types of Hydraulic Cranes
Hydraulic cranes are one of the most frequently utilized kinds of crane within the construction industry. They are used to make everything from skyscrapers and buildings to roadways and freeway overpasses.
There is a large range of crane models, styles and sizes available on the market. There are a lot of different kinds in order to serve a variety of different reasons within the industry. Choosing the best kind of crane is really essential for making sure that the material can be efficiently and safely moved to the location it needs to get to in order for the construction process to start.
Truck Cranes
Usually, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are extremely helpful for building sites where a crane is needed in many different locations for the duration of the build. This is because of the fact that the crane is capable of being easily driven from one location to another.
Cranes can also be transported to various construction sites on the road since they drive themselves, that eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own really lessens transport costs at the end of the day.
The truck crane however is not stable enough to handle all the major loads that a hydraulic crane could handle. Hence, so as to fix this problem, outriggers can be extended from the deck. The outriggers utilize hydraulic pressure in order to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.
Crawler-Mounted Cranes
Crawler cranes feature big tracks on the base of the crane. These massive tracks are similar to the ones seen on other construction machinery like bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks allow the crane to move around a construction site successfully.
